BMKG Says No Chance of Rain in Greater Jakarta; Air Quality Still Unhealthy

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Today’s weather in Jakarta will be sunny throughout the day, according to a forecast released by the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG). There is no chance of rain or an early warning issued by the agency for Tuesday, August 15, 2023.

From morning to noon, the weather in all areas of the capital is likely to be sunny, while at night, the sky will be cloudy.

The city’s temperature today will be around 23-34 degrees Celsius with a humidity level of 45-80 percent.

Sunny weather is also expected in the regions surrounding Jakarta, namely Bogor City, Bogor Regency, Depok, Bekasi City, Bekasi Regency, Tangerang City, Tangerang Regency, and South Tangerang City throughout the day.

Air Quality in Jakarta and surrounding regions

As of 5:40 a.m. today, the air monitoring website IQAir reported that Tangerang City was second only to Pontianak in West Kalimantan on the list of cities with the worst air quality in Indonesia. The air quality index (AQI) in Tangerang City reached 200 or unhealthy.

In addition, South Tangerang City ranked third with an AQI of 179 or unhealthy, followed by Jakarta in fifth place with an AQI of 165 or unhealthy.
